SmartWomen Connect and our Pink Breakfast Host and Corporate Member Maddocks are pleased to present the second fund-raising event in support of The McGrath Foundation.

This year we focus on raising awareness of the incidence and consequences of breast cancer diagnosis in younger women.

While the majority of women diagnosed will be over 50 years of age, we’re certain most of you will know a friend, colleague or someone in your network who has been diagnosed in their 30s or 40s.

Many of these women will be professional women who are immersed in their career, often raising a family and getting on with the business of a busy life.

While a cancer diagnosis stops them in their tracks, life continues on around them, and they are forced to confront the challenge of managing treatment, shock and fear alongside the reality of normal life.

Younger women also face additional issues including fertility, hormonal changes and early menopause brought on by treatment.

That’s where the support of the McGrath Breast Cancer Nurses, alongside family and friends, can be invaluable.

This October we will share the stories of younger women impacted by breast cancer, our inspiring panel will be announced shortly.
